Seek support for projects

Are you interested in applying for support for a project? Hooray! We guide you through the process on this page, and of course, help you along the way. A warm welcome to Leader.

Application step by step

Start by contacting us at the leader office. You can do this by reaching out to us and telling us about your idea, or you can fill out an expression of interest that you can find below. Important information about applying for support from us at Leader can be found in the ”Information sheet on applying for support.” You will then make the actual application in the Agricultural Agency's system, while we are your sounding board throughout the process. A warm welcome with your project idea!

Good to know

  • Associations, companies, and organizations can apply for support for projects. However, private individuals cannot.
  • The size of the support in relation to the budget and type of co-financing depends, among other things, on how public-spirited the project is. Ask us!
  • NOTE! – For an application to be considered for prioritization (decision) by our board (LAG), it must be complete. That is, all attachments must be included, and the supplements we have requested must be submitted no later than 4 weeks before the date of the LAG meeting. It is therefore not the date the application was submitted that matters, but the date the application is considered complete. So it is important that the application arrives in good time at the office, so we have time to assess whether it needs to be supplemented and that you have time to submit the requested supplements no later than 4 weeks before the LAG meeting. Before you click on ”submit application” in the Agricultural Agency's application system, make sure to download it as a pdf and email it to us. This way, we can help you ensure that the application looks good before it enters the system.

Step 1

Read the Future Villages strategy

To apply, your project idea needs to match our local strategy, which is based on the development needs within our working area Future Villages Dalsland Årjäng and Munkedal.

Familiarize yourself with our focus areas below for Future Villages 2023-2027, and read through our entire strategy for the period. In the strategy, you will get an overview of what development we want to pursue in the coming years, as well as what types of projects we are involved in supporting.

Step 2

Present your project to us

The next step is to fill out our expression of interest and send it to us at the leader office. The expression of interest is our local process to support you with the right help as early as possible in the project's process. After you receive a response to the expression of interest and we have started our contact, you will also fill out the form Results and target values. In this, you describe what goals and results your project should achieve, as well as how.

If you as the applicant for the project are an association, limited company, or trading partnership, you also need a power of attorney from the Swedish Board of Agriculture to be able to write an application. Your application for power of attorney should be sent to the address specified on the form. Also send a copy via email of the signed form along with the accompanying signature protocol to your contact at the leader office. If you have your own business, no power of attorney is needed.

Remember to save a copy of the power of attorney as this will later need to be uploaded as an attachment.

Step 3

Write the application

Once the leader office has approved your local attachment, it is time to start working on the budget, and then write the application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service.

Find the right e-service

Go to www.jordbruksverket.se and log in to My Pages with Bank-ID. Choose the organization you will represent and write your application. Note that it is only with your own company that you should choose ”Myself”. If you do not see the organization you represent, the power of attorney has not yet been processed.

Step-by-step instructions

For your application to be complete, you need to attach:

  • A budget template. Also attach quotes and other cost documentation that verifies the budget items.
  • A liquidity certificate showing that you have sufficient finances to carry out the effort, such as bank statements, balance sheets, or loan promises. This is needed because the support is paid out only after you have incurred the costs.

We receive the application when you have submitted it

When you click the ”Review and submit” button, the application will come to us at the leader office.

Step 4

Processing and decision

When the application has reached us at the leader office, we will process it. We will provide you with feedback and inform you if you need to supplement or clarify anything. You can make changes to your application even after it has been submitted.

Your application needs to be complete one month before one of Framtidsbygder's board meetings, see the calendar. When the board is to make a decision on your application, you will be invited to present the project.

If the board decides to approve your application, the Swedish Board of Agriculture must formally approve the project. Since support is paid out afterwards, a credit and liquidity assessment will also be conducted. Obtaining a formal decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture often takes 8 – 10 months, sometimes longer. If you choose to start the project before the Swedish Board of Agriculture has made its decision, it is done at your own risk.

Once the Swedish Board of Agriculture has approved the project application, you can get started!
