Mini-support: Culture and leisure

Leader Framtidsbygder offers, within the framework of this umbrella project, targeted support in smaller amounts (max 25,000 kronor) so that associations can have the financial opportunity to organize local activities within the culture and leisure sector.

The basic idea is that new activities and meeting places should have the opportunity to grow, or that already existing events and activities should be able to be preserved.

The umbrella project is ongoing, but already several sub-projects have been able to be implemented with the help of support from Leader Framtidsbygder.

Munkedal's music association Soundcheck applied for funds within the framework of the mini-support Culture and Leisure to book Timo Räisänen and son for a summer concert on July 30, 2025, at Saltkällan's bathing place in Munkedal.

Dals Ed's Dementia Association, Nostalgia Exhibition

A nostalgia exhibition that took place on September 20, 2025, in Dals Ed. The public had the opportunity to meet and talk about shared memories related to the exhibition material about, among other things, cars and local musicians that were present, while dementia patients could tell acquaintances and relatives about their memories and experiences. As a visitor, one could also take part in a lecture about old local musicians, listen to tape recordings, and visit a nostalgia flea market. The exhibition is planned to continue to be held annually.

Fröskogs cultural association, film screening Sagabiografen Åmål

Fröskogs cultural association organized a film evening at Sagabiografen in Åmål during the autumn of 2025. Three short films by Mattias Olsson on ”Campfire stories” were shown. He was also present and talked about his filmmaking and answered questions. ”Campfire stories” is an independent film collective and a non-profit platform founded in 2017 by Mattias Olsson. The collective focuses on documentary storytelling around ecological balance, sustainability, and meaningful human coexistence.

Meeting place Tollebols Kvarn

Åmål's western village association has, through support from Leader Framtidsbygder and voluntary engagement, built a stage at Tollebols mill in Åmål for performances and events during the summer of 2025, and has also acquired equipment for hobby horse activities. The aim has been to ”strengthen and develop the meeting place for all ages to meet our multicultural local community in the municipality, in Dalsland and other visitors from Sweden and the EU.”.

Miniröris Karlanda sports association

Karlanda sports association in Årjäng has started a miniröris once a week for the smallest children (between 0 to 3 years) at the beginning of 2026. The focus is on giving them the opportunity to develop their motor and social skills, while parents have the opportunity to socialize and share experiences.

Afriminte – Culture, dance, and music in Årjäng for youth

The association Afriminte organized four meetings with music creation and dance in Årjäng during the spring of 2026. The aim has been to offer rewarding cultural activities for young people, and through these connect youth from different countries, where they can take with them what they have learned during the project into the future.
